Wallamba Landcare (previously two groups: Dyers Crossing Landcare & Wang Wauk–Wallamba Sustainable Farming) has a broad range of interests and we endeavour to cater to the needs of our members, which includes many tree-changers.
The purpose of the group is to provide opportunities for social connectivity and inspiration for ways to manage our rural properties in the surrounds of Nabiac and Krambach. We meet around five times a year, to share ideas and discuss local issues, which are often unique to our area.
We typically meet at one of the member’s properties, or other properties in the area. It’s interesting to share different approaches to the array of challenges we face in striving for healthy biodiversity and sustainable production on our land.
Field days and gatherings are usually from 9.30 -11.30am and are planned around topical issues raised by the group. They may be held on any day of the week.
Retired farmer, Les Roberts was one of the founding members of Dyers Crossing Landcare. As a volunteer, Les has dedicated an abundance of time and energy into raising awareness of sustainable agriculture and it’s great to see Les coming along to meetings to share his wealth of knowledge and experience.
Members benefit from a range of resources available via the Local Landcare Coordinator based in Nabiac, like equipment and books including some specific to this region, on common weeds, indigenous trees, and grasses.
