The Stroud Community Rivercare Project is focused on restoring and improving the health of local waterways by engaging the community and leveraging scientific knowledge. The project aims to enhance ecosystems, stabilize riverbanks, and engage private landholders and the broader community in environmental stewardship. We work along Mill Creek and Mill Brook in Stroud and both systems feed into the Karuah River. We also conduct water quality testing each month in Mill Brook for CEN and work with Mid Coast Council with eDNA testing for platypus. Friend us on facebook at Stroud Community Rivercare for times and days of working bee’s or contact organisers
This project will also set the groundwork to enhance community awareness of the Worimi people's links to the waterways, with a dedicated walking path to be developed. This path will be an extension of the existing historical walk, providing an immersive experience that highlights the cultural significance of the waterways to the Worimi people. |
