Smiths Lake Landcare Group aims to restore and improve the natural environment of the public land within the village area of Smiths Lake. In particular, but not only, the foreshore area of the Lake itself.

The main initiative in this process is to remove as much of the non-native plant species as possible and, in some situations, replant/revegetate these areas with suitable native plant species.

The aim and objective of the group is also to engage members of the local community in activities that enhance the physical nature of the area and also provide an opportunity for community members to gather and work towards worthwhile tasks that improve the physical aspect and social fabric of the Community

Although the group's main focus is on weed management and revegetation of our local area, we are open to any activities that care for and add value to public land and community amenities.
