Embark on an adventure with MidCoast Council and Waterwatch NSW as we hunt for the elusive Southern Purple Spotted Gudgeon! After last year’s thrilling discovery, we’re hitting the Manning River Estuary again—this time across seven dazzling sites—armed with cutting-edge eDNA technology. Get hands on training in how to collect an eDNA sample. Join in the search by collecting a sample at one of our seven sampling locations and help crack the case of the elusive Southern Purple Spotted Gudgeon.

Our next field day will be taking a look at how to improve ground habitat in a newly planted corridor on a Horse Stud at Dyers Crossing. We will be hearing from Joel Stibbard (BCT) about the diversity of animals that need logs, native plants and rocks on the ground to survive, and how you can 'furnish' your property appropriately for them.
