Dyers Crossing- Ground Habitat Furnishing Field Day

Date & Time
06 November 2025 08:00 AM - 01:00 PM
Timezone
(UTC+11:00) Australia/Sydney

Join us with host Raylene at her 40acre Horse Stud in Dyers Crossing where she has been actively improving the productivity of paddocks for her beloved horses, as well as remediating severe gully erosion to create a substantial wildlife corridor and shelter belt in the middle of her paddocks.

We will look at how to add complexity to new plantings with species diversification, create ground habitat for native fauna and mitigate flood damage with soft engineering solutions such as log jams and brush matting. We will also take a look at one of Raylene’s dams and discuss the benefits of converting farm dams into biodiverse havens for birds, frogs, reptiles and aquatic species.

Staff from the Biodiversity Conservation Trust, Council and Landcare will be available to offer support and share their expertise about our unique ground dwelling fauna, and how to conserve and restore their habitat.

You will also have the opportunity to meet other Conservation Agreement landholders and discuss shared interests around biodiversity, restoration and conservation.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

This event is part of the Private Land Conservation Matters program, funded by the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust and supported locally by MidCoast Council.
