Hunter LLS- Krambach- Livestock Roadshow: feeding and management

With seasonal conditions tightening across the region, we know many of you are facing some tough decisions.

March is historically our best month for rainfall potential — yet this year, there’s still none on the forecast. It’s a difficult position to be in, and you’re certainly not alone.

Hunter Local Land Services would love you to join the Livestock Roadshow: Feeding & Management – Making Decisions for the Season Ahead.
They will be sharing practical, grounded insights to help you navigate the season with clarity.

A major feature of the day will be a look ahead at future grass production, comparing what’s possible if we receive 0 mm, 50 mm or 100 mm of rain from now. These projections offer a realistic, region‑specific picture of how much feed could be grown under each rainfall scenario — an invaluable tool for planning and feed budgeting in a year where every millimetre counts.

There will also be a focus on the nutritional and management needs of:

• Cows with calves at foot
• Growing cattle, and
• Breeders approaching calving

ensuring you have the information needed to support stock through the coming months.

The team will dig into feeding for production, early weaning options, animal health priorities, and strategies tailored to dry‑season decision‑making. Plus, there’ll be plenty of time to chat with LLS staff who are regularly out in the paddock and understand what producers are dealing with right now.
