INFORMATION ABOUT OUR NEW CONSTITUTION

 

• Mid Coast 2 Tops Landcare Connection was established in 2019, formed by the three network groups of Manning Coastcare, Manning Landcare and Karuah Great Lakes Landcare
• Under the then Constitution, the MC2T Committee was restricted to two representatives from each of these groups and it has been administratively difficult to maintain the organisation
• Our new MC2T Constitution was formally accepted by NSW Fair Trading on 15th September 2025.
• MC2T will continue to represent Landcare and Coastcare groups across the area of the MidCoast and support both groups and individual members.
• The new Constitution broadens who can be on the MC2T Committee and allows MC2T to operate with DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) Status.
• The most significant change is to the membership structure of MC2T, with now three types of Members.

 

    Three types of members

 

• Associate Member - A natural person who is a member of a Landcare Member Group or joins MC2T as an individual and is committed to the Principal Purpose of the Association (to protect and enhance the natural environment within the Area). The cost to join MC2T as an Associate Member is $10 per individual or $15 for a family per year (up to 2 adults and all dependent children). Does not have voting rights.
• Landcare Member Groups - An incorporated or unincorporated Landcare group that is committed to the Principal Purpose of the Association. No membership cost. Has voting rights.
• Ordinary Member - A natural person who is a committee member or convenor (or similar role) of a Landcare Member Group and committed to the Principal Purpose of the Association. No membership cost. Has voting rights. Main reason for this class is to allow larger groups to have more than one vote.

 

     Why join MC2T?

     The benefits of joining MC2T for individual (associate) members:

• Be part of the Landcare community

• Attend majority of events for free (cost of $10 to non-members)

• Equipment hire access

• Chat room access (on new website)

 

    The benefits of joining MC2T for a Landcare Member Group:

• Access to Local Landcare Coordinators

• Access to funds and support with grant applications

• Access to insurance

• Help build a stronger organisation and better position MC2T to advocate for funding and represent MidCoast landcarers with partner organisations and the State and Federal Governments.

• Have voting rights through a nominated representative plus Ordinary Members from the group – to elect MC2T Committee and help focus the direction of Landcare in the Mid Coast
