Craven Conservation making a difference 🌱

The newly formed Craven Conservation and Landcare Group is already making an impressive contribution to their local environment. Members recently came together for a roadside working bee along Woods Road and Glen Road to tackle patches of Mother of Millions, an invasive and highly toxic weed threatening the health of the roadside, native wildlife and livestock.

The group recognises that the roadside corridors provide vital habitat and wildlife corridors through the rural landscape of Craven. By working together to remove invasive weeds and protect these areas, the group is helping to improve habitat and maintain connectivity for native plants and wildlife. It’s a difficult weed to control and will definitely need many hands and more visits.

It is fantastic to see this new group taking action so early and demonstrating what a great group of neighbors and friends getting together can achieve. Their commitment to caring for their shared landscape is a great example of Landcare in action. Well done!
